We’re starting this story way back in 2020 when things were really weird. The world was basically still in the midst of (0v!d, but Tyler messaged me wanting to know if we could do pictures at Seneca Rocks. I mean, of course, it’s Seneca Rocks. I would never pass up such a pretty photo opportunity! But then, he informed me that he was going to ask Lauren to marry him. My obvious answer was “yeah, let’s do it”, just a little more excited! We set up a plan and a few short weeks later, we made the drive to Seneca Rocks, West Virginia. I was trying to keep my composure the whole time, knowing exactly what was about to happen. Finally, we had gotten enough photos for me to put them in “the pose”. The one where Tyler got down on one knee and asked Lauren to be his forever.
It wasn’t my first surprise proposal, but it was one that had so much meaning and thought put into it. My heart was so happy to be able to be there.
Fast-forward a few months, Lauren and Tyler ask if I can do their wedding pictures. “Duh” was my reply. AND THEN. They hit me with the loaction. CANCUN, MEXICO.
UHH, YEAH I’LL BE THERE.
Time flew, and the following May we found ourselves on a flight from Pittsburgh to Mexico. I was about 20 weeks pregnant at the time and a little nervous about how this was going to go after being constantly sick for the past few months… but LET ME TELL YOU. If you’re ever pregnant, a resort in Mexico is where you want to go. We were waited on hand and foot, endless food and drinks (I stuck with ice cold water and slushies), and we laid in the pool all day every day until the wedding.
Don’t even get me started on how beautiful the set up for this wedding was. It was literally perfect. The arch was decorated with gorgeous flower arrangement and the backdrop was the bright blue ocean. Literally obsessed.
I remember how hard the delicate sand was to walk in, but Lauren came out and walked literally like a model on the runway. She made it look so easy. The ceremony was so sweet and meaningful. Both of them were a little nervous before the fact, but you couldn’t tell. They rocked that ceremony. They said their “I do’s” and then the part I was most PUMPED for. The portraits.
We took pictures in front of the arch, on the dock, by the water, and anywhere that caught our eye. Still to this day, I’m obsessed with these photos.
We ate yummy food, celebrated the newly weds, and dance the night away. The atmosphere was so electric, and you could feel the happiness from everybody in the room.
Since then, we have documented many more milestones with Tyler and Lauren. I absolutely love watching my couples grow and have wonderful lives together. This wedding was definitely one for the books.
